The City.

City Basements are delighted to commence works as Principal Contractor on a project in Broadgate, City of London. The project involves the extension and deepening of three adjoining basements into one large basement to house a swimming pool below a working studio.

The basement perimeter wall is being formed using contiguous piles and a lining wall. The existing facades will be underpinned so the basement can be deepened to create additional headroom.

The structure is to be further underpinned using a combination of bearing piles, pile caps and needles which will support the existing internal walls and superstructure above.

Excavation will then commence to extend and deepen the basement. The swimming pool, basement and ground floor slabs will be formed from reinforced concrete. The basement will receive a cavity drain to provide a waterproof structure and the swimming pool will be internally tanked.
