City Basements Has Been Announced As A Finalist For A Ground Engineering Award 2009.
The Ground Engineering awards are an opportunity for the construction industry to present their achievements and reward individual companies for their contribution to geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering.
City Basements is a finalist in the category of “UK Project with a Geotechnical Value of up to £1m”. This category highlights the importance of the project’s sustainability, health and safety, value engineering and delivering the project beyond expectations.
City Basements and Ischebeck Titan have jointly entered the GE awards for the specialist geotechnical work involved in the basement development of a Grade II listed villa in Chelsea. The 540m2, 7.0 – 8.5m deep basement will house a gymnasium, wine cellar and cinema room. The project was particularly challenging due to the temporary works design required to support the soil around and under an existing tree protected by a Preservation Order.
The winner of the prestigious award will be announced at the GE awards dinner on 6th February 2009.
