Project: London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

This two storey deep basement was excavated within the Courtyard of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine’s Grade II Listed building in Bloomsbury London.

Access into the working area was extremely restricted as the basement was completely surrounded by offices, residents and the occupied school which housed some very sensitive equipment in surrounding laboratories.

Utilising low noise/vibration techniques the project was successfully completed with little or no disruption to the surrounding areas. Access issues to the Courtyard were overcome by the design of a unique bridge propping system manufactured on site.

Despite experiencing some unexpected challenges the project was completed on time and within budget.
